Erdogan postpones visit to Latin American countries - source

A trip of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan to Latin American countries has been postponed, the Turkish media reported Jan. 31 citing a diplomatic source.

The reason of the trip’s postponement and when it will take place, has not been reported.

Earlier, it was reported that Turkey’s president will visit Brazil, Paraguay and Venezuela after his visit to Vatican.

 

On Feb. 5, Erdogan will visit Vatican at the invitation of Pope Francis. This will be the first visit of senior Turkish officials to Vatican over the past 59 years at the level of the country’s president.

It is expected to discuss the US decision to recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel.
