Chief of the General Staff of Russia's Armed Forces Army General Valery Gerasimov arrived in Baku on Sept.7.
Gerasimov will hold talks with General Petr Pavel, Chairman of the NATO Military Committee to discuss topical issues of international security, said the Defense Ministry.
Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev will also receive the chief of the Russian General Staff.
Within the framework of the visit, Gerasimov is also expected to meet with his Azerbaijani counterpart Najimaddin Sadikov.
