Brussels to host Eastern Partnership summit today

The 5th Eastern Partnership summit will be held in Brussels on Nov.24.

 

Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyevwill also attend the summit.

 

The summit is organized under the title "20 Deliverables for 2020: Bringing tangible results for citizens”.

 

A final resolution is expected to be adopted as a result of the Eastern Partnership summit.

 

Five leaders of the countries, except Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko, will attend the summit.

 

The last summit of the Eastern Partnership countries took place in Riga in 2015.

 

Launched in 2009 as a joint policy initiative, the Eastern Partnership (EaP) aims to deepen and strengthen relations between the European Union (EU), its Member States and its six Eastern neighbours: Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, the Republic of Moldova and Ukraine.
