According to Aliyev, the accreditation period of Tafakkur University was over in 2016. Thus, the university was included into the schedule of educational institutions to be accredited in the 2016-2017 academic year, the relevant Accreditation Commission was established and measures were taken. However, the management of the Tafakkur University appealed to the Ministry of Education in October last year, saying that the Council of Founders had made a decision to suspend the university from July 2017.

"Accordingly, the admission of students to the university has not been predicted because it was not accredited. During the summer holidays, 190 university students were transferred to other higher education institutions using the transfer.edu.az portal. Besides, students who had not applied to the portal in accordance with existing legislation and students who are continuing their education at Tafakkur University will be re-opened to other higher education institutions to ensure their educational rights. Those students can apply to transfer.edu.az for this purpose.

Aliyev added that transfer of students from one higher education to another one or from one specialty to another one is carried out with the consent of Ministry of Education on the winter or summer holidays. According to him, number of students using transfer.edu.az portal significantly increased: "Totally, 1,484 students used the portal and made their choice. This year, 805 students were transferred from local universities, 21 from foreign universities. At the same time, 107 persons studying in secondary special education institution and 4 persons studying a master’s degree used this portal. It should be noted once more that the main goal of this activity is satisfaction and comfortableness of citizen”.
