The Central Election Commission (CEC) has begun preparations for presidential elections in Azerbaijan, CEC Chairman Mazahir Panahov said on Saturday.
"Preparations for the presidential election in Azerbaijan started in January. Currently, voter lists are being prepared,” he said.
Panahov noted that political parties have already begun submitting their annual reports to the CEC.
"We want political parties to take this issue seriously so that this process continues in accordance with international standards. Compared to 2017, there are positive changes this year and political parties are more responsive to this issue,” added the CEC chairman.
The presidential election in Azerbaijan will be held on October 17, 2018.
