Turkish businessman of Iranian origin Reza Zarrab, arrested in the US, was assaulted in prison by one of the prisoners, Turkey’s A Haber TV channel reported Nov. 17.
Reportedly, Zarrab was transferred to other prison after the assault.
In March 2016 Zarrab was arrested in the US for an attempt to evade US sanctions against Iran.
Earlier, the Turkish media reported that the country’s government could not get any information about the arrested businessman.
As a result, the Turkish Foreign Ministry sent a note of protest to the US. The US responded to a note of protest and disclosed Zarrab’s exact location.
