Ambassador of the Czech Republic to Azerbaijan, Vitezslav Pivonka, has been appointed ambassador to Russia.
Pivonka said his nomination was approved by Moscow.
"I will complete my mission in Azerbaijan in early April," he said.
The ambassador said the new appointment was of importance to him.
"Russia is a key partner of the Czech Republic and energy is the main direction of our cooperation.
