North Korea launches ballistic missile

North Korea has launched yet another ballistic missile, Yonhap News Agency said on Tuesday citing South Korea’s Joint Chiefs of Staff.


Later in the day, Japan's NHK TV said citing a government source, that North Korea fired three missiles towards the Sea of Japan, one of which might have fallen down in Japan’s exclusive economic zone near the northern prefecture of Aomori.

 

 

In July, North Korea made two test launches of ballistic missiles. On August 29 and September 15, it launched two missiles which flew over Japan and on September 3 it announced a successful test of a hydrogen bomb.


"North Korea launched an unidentified ballistic missile eastward from the vicinity of Pyongsong, South Pyongan Province, at dawn today," the Joint Chiefs of Staff said.


The missile flew in the eastwards direction. Japan’s Chief Cabinet Secretary Yoshihide Suga said earlier Tokyo was analyzing data about North Korea’s launch. According to the Japanese defense ministry, the missile’s flight lasted for about 50 minutes.
