EU special representative for South Caucasus and Georgia arrives in Baku

Special Representative of the  European Union for the South Caucasus and the crisis in Georgia, Toivo Klaar arrived in Baku for a two-day visit, head of Political, Economics and Press and Information Section of the EU Delegation to Azerbaijan, Denis Daniilidis said on Monday.

 

Klaar is scheduled to meet with President Ilham Aliyev, Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov and other officials.

 

The Council of the EU appointed Klaar as EU Special Representative for the South Caucasus and the crisis in Georgia on November 13. He succeeds Ambassador Herbert Salber (of German nationality), who had held the post since 8 July 2014.
